Welcome to Empower Together, a strong and thoughtful community of over 3500 members built over a decade of connection and collaboration.
Our community was founded as Women in Tech North (WIT North) in 2016 by Beckie Taylor Arzu Kanval and Kate Wood as a way to bring together women working in the Greater Manchester technology sector. With significant growth during 2025, February 2026 marks a new chapter for the community with its evolution to Empower Together, combining the WIT North and Empower communities under the leadership of Beckie Taylor and Natalie Asprey.

While the name may have changed, the ethos of the community has not. Empower Together is a free, accessible community with a focus on creating opportunities for women in technology which may not otherwise exist.. With an annual calendar of monthly meet up events we connect our members creating an authentic, vulnerable and courageous community willing to share, learn and develop together.

Empower WIT CIC is not for profit and our community is supported by a team of ambassadors who work with us to deliver our monthly events, create value through content and shared knowledge, grow our community and provide guidance and support for our existing community and new members.
Get Involved
Our events take place in person every month at the home of our host and Community partner Kraken based in Manchester city centre. Our events are friendly and informal and everyone is welcome to join us. You can find us on MeetUp, where you’ll be able to join the community and sign up for our next event - we would love to see you there.
